Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Plan
In April 2021, the first Gender Equality Plan (GEP) was approved by the Técnico Management Council. This document formally outlines the activities to be developed within this theme, according to an action plan reviewed annually.
With the aim of promoting a culture of equal opportunities between women and men at Técnico, the GEP is based on a strategy focused on four priority areas of intervention: equal access to employment (recruitment and selection); performance evaluation and career progression; internal and external information and communication; and work-life balance.
Currently available only in English, an updated, bilingual version of this plan is underway, offering greater scope not only in terms of focus areas but also in terms of time horizon (2026-2030). The new version will be renamed as Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Plan.
Action Plan
Created in 2016, the Gender Balance@Técnico Working Group has promoted and supported a wide range of activities aimed at strengthening diversity, inclusion and gender equality at IST. These activities, developed in close collaboration with the School’s services and departments, are organised within an action plan that is reviewed annually. This working document structures the different initiatives into focus areas, strategic and operational objectives, targets, and monitoring indicators.
