Post-Parental-Leave Support

Técnico has implemented an institutional support measure for academic staff returning from parental leave. Under this measure, teaching staff may be exempted from teaching duties in the semester immediately following the end of parental leave, helping to promote work-life balance and a smoother transition back to academic activity. In a later phase of implementation (2024), the measure began to be automatically applied to mothers and fathers who had taken parental leave of at least 100 days. This initiative reflects Técnico’s commitment to creating more supportive conditions for parenthood within academic careers.
